| GTO was again an option to the Lemans, Code 334 option package . The only models that could be ordered with this option was the Hardtop, and once again the Coupe, but not the convertible. It was possible, however, to order a Lemans convertible with Endura bumper and add the rest, engine, handling package and you would own a GTO convertible *clone* that wasn't a GTO! Confusing.... |  |

| Body changes
were minimal, a pair of "air extractors" were placed in the front fenders,
and as in '64-'65, the exhaust ended in a twin-splitter right behind the
rear wheels. A very rare option was the integrated rear spoiler, often called the "ducktail" spoiler. The 400" was still standard but had lost about 20-30 H.P. since last year, and was rated in SAE Net.(250). Optional was a 455" HO now rated at 300 H.P. SAE Net. |
