| Downsized,
even smaller than the first GTO, the '74 GTO was an option on the Ventura.
A light and good handling car with the RTS (Radial Tuned Suspension). For
the first time in the GTO's history, the engine displacement went under 389 c.u.i.
This last GTO production year saw only one engine availability:
the 4-barrel 350 cui rated at 200 H.P. net. The GTO option included parking lights in the grille, a shaker scoop instead of the familiar twin scoop, Rally II wheels and dual exhaust. You could choose between two bodystyles: 2-door coupe or hatchback. Sales were much better than in '72-'73, but this was the end of the GTO. |
