VIN CODE: 242176Z1071xx MISC: The car was originally a 366hp tripowered 389, but sadly the engine threw a rod through the side of the block and I installed a 455 in it's place. I put a set of 4X heads from a 400 to bump the compression a little and installed 1.77 exhaust valves with 1.65:1 roller tip rockers. I also use the tripower manifold but with 2300 series Holleys in place of the original Rochester carbs. I don't particularly like Holleys, but they were on the car when I got it and they have given me no trouble in the 3 years I've owned the car. I've owned a number of Pontiacs over the years, but I always wanted a '66 goat, I just love those tail lights! I can't keep out of it and as such, my wife and I (mainly my wife as she won't drive my '64 & '68 Bonnevilles) use it as daily transport. It'll be with us for a long time to come. |
