CODE: N/A MISC: During the early '80s my wife was shopping for a Volvo wagon. Fortunately, she spotted and immediately fell in love with a well used '66 Tempest. In the mid '90s, when I came onto the scene, the car was sitting in the driveway -- inoperable. The rubber was rotten, the chrome was rusted, and the paint was chipped and faded. She kept telling me how wonderful this car is and the great times she had driving up the Pacific Coast Highway with the top down. Looking at the rotting hulk, I never quite believed her. One day, she had the car towed to our mechanic. She told me that the car only needed a few hoses and it would be running. Needless to say, the required repairs were much more extensive. However, after driving the car a few times, I began to understand why Rebecca liked the car so much and could never part with it. We began restoring the car in ernest. The car will always be a work in progress. Our next big project will be redoing the interior. However, the exterior is sharp and the car runs strong. We have finally reached a point in the restoration process where we can begin to show the car off. Enjoy! |
